Terms of Service (EULA)
Welcome to Capybara ("we," "our," or "us"). By using our mobile application ("App") and related services ("Services"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content and Abusive Behavior
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You may not post, share, or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable. You may not harass, bully, stalk, or abuse other users. Violations will result in immediate removal of content, suspension or permanent ban of your account, and may be reported to law enforcement.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. User-Generated Content
You are responsible for all content you post (profiles, photos, bios, hangouts). We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our community standards. We use content filtering and moderation to help keep the community safe. Users can report objectionable content and block abusive users. We act on reports within 24 hours.
3. Reporting and Blocking
If you encounter objectionable content or abusive behavior, you can report it through the in-app Report option. You can also block users to remove them from your feed immediately. Blocking notifies our team for review. We remove violating content and take action against offending users within 24 hours.
4. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion, we will remove or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: violate laws; impersonate others; spam or solicit; use the App for commercial purposes without permission; attempt to circumvent security; or interfere with the App's operation.
6. Intellectual Property
We own the App and its content (except user content). You retain ownership of your content but grant us a license to use it to operate the Services.
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. You use the App at your own risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
9. Payments, Cancellations & Refunds
Who you are paying. Paid hangouts are hosted and managed end to end by Capybara, acting as the event organiser. For payment or refund queries, contact support@capybarahangouts.com.
Price. The fee shown for a hangout before you pay is the total price for one place — there are no additional mandatory charges added later. Payment is taken securely via Stripe; we never store your card details.
Refund terms.
- If the host does not approve your request, you receive a full refund.
- If you cancel after paying, you receive 70% back — we keep a 30% exit cut. This applies whether or not your request has been approved.
- If we cancel or materially change the event (for example the date), you receive a full refund.
Cancellation rights. These are date-specific leisure bookings, so the statutory 14-day cancellation right does not apply (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(h)). The refund terms above apply instead. Refunds are returned to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days once payment processing confirms them.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
